Finding gratitude in the ordinary.
Noticing a warm cup, a familiar voice, or a moment of ease—without asking gratitude to erase a difficult day.
There is room for more than one feeling
A day can be hard and still hold something you appreciate. You do not have to decide that everything is fine before noticing a moment of comfort.
Gratitude journaling can simply be a way to pay attention. It does not require a beautiful answer or an uplifting ending.
Notice the specific
Instead of finding something big, begin with a detail. The way the afternoon light fell across your room. A message that made you feel remembered. Someone giving you a little extra time.
Write what happened and why it stayed with you. If nothing comes to mind, it is okay to leave the page blank and return another day.
Let the practice be yours
You might write in the morning, after a quiet pause, or whenever you remember. You can write in any language and in words that feel natural to you.
Try this prompt: what is one ordinary thing I would like to notice a little more often?
